Illegal appointments of 3 as CGMs

It’s a scene straight out of a madcap topsy turvy satirical play. Only it isn’t happening on stage but in real life. Three junior officers of Indian Telecom Services (ITS) in Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) are continuing to occupy the posts meant for Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) as chief general managers (CGMs) of BSNL circle offices.

They are: Seshachalam M, CGM Andhra Pradesh; Ajay Kumar Kararha, CGM Punjab; and Harinder Kumar, CGM Maharashtra. Mr Kumar was appointed as CGM on November 30, 2023 in Haryana before shifting him to Maharashtra on June 7, 2024. While the other two were appointed on September 15, 2023 at their present posting as CGMs.
