SMS – OneXtel Investigations

The issue of frauds through sending of SMSs is a serious matter involving the lifetime savings of innocent citizens who get trapped in such fraudulent SMS. Sometime in July 2024, the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) apparently found two telemarketing companies – V-CON Intelligent Security Pvt Ltd and OneXtel Media Pvt Ltd, sending crores of fraudulent SMSs to telecom users. The I4C provided this feedback to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
