BharatNet Phase-3: Part-I

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has achieved a mammoth target of evaluating 187 voluminous bids in less than five months. It was not an easy task. Strategic decision of dividing evaluations and aggressive chase by CMD Ravi A Robert Jerard to meet the target, proved to be the key behind this success. It is now gearing up to issue orders worth over Rs 34,378 crore towards capex for BharatNet project. The project will be rolled out across India in two and a half year. Right now, BSNL is doing price negotiations with the L1 bidders as some of them have quoted higher than the budgeted cost.
