Why Court ordered Xiaomi to pay Rs 33,500 compensation to a customer
The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Mumbai has ordered Xiaomi to pay Rs 33,500 in compensation to a customer for failing to properly repair a smartphone. The commission found that despite multiple repair attempts and a significant repair fee, the defect in the phone was not resolved. President Vandana Mishra and member Sanjay S Jagdale of the commission noted that although the phone had been repaired, the original problem persisted. The case was filed by Akash Rameshkumar Gupta, who had submitted his Xiaomi phone for repair multiple times and wasn’t satisfied with the resolution.
