Google One shuts down its built-in VPN service

Google has officially shut down its VPN (Virtual Private Network) service offered through Google One subscriptions. The VPN, which launched in October 2020 for subscribers on the $9.99/month plan and later became available for all tiers, is no longer accessible as of today, June 22, 2024.
Google announced the planned shutdown in April, citing a shift in focus to provide the “most in-demand features” for Google One subscribers.
