Digital Public Infrastructure
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology (OSET) have jointly released an interim report that delves into the complexities and necessities of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). The report is the first in a series that will explore the role of DPI in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ensuring inclusive digital societies.
The interim report is the result of the collaborative efforts of 44 independent experts from diverse sectors, including public, private and civil society. These experts have scrutinized existing DPI experiences worldwide, identifying opportunities and potential risks associated with DPI design and implementation. Their findings underscore the importance of trust and equity as foundational elements for leveraging DPI to create safe and inclusive societies.
