Spectrum for SatCom

Trai’s open house session online on July 14, 2023 on the consultation paper titled Spectrum for Space-based Communication Services saw hectic lobbying for free spectrum. Leading this bogey was Bharti Airtel which vehemently opposed allocation through auction and wanted spectrum for free. On the other hand, Reliance Jio and Vodafone-Idea wanted the spectrum to be allocated through auction route.
