IT Hardware PLI 2.0

The union cabinet has approved the modified production-linked incentive scheme (PLI Scheme 2.0) for IT hardware to boost local manufacturing of products like laptops, tablets, all-in-one PCs, servers and ultra-small form factor devices. The government has more than doubled its budgetary outlay to Rs 17,000 crore from the previous provision of Rs 7,325 crore. The new scheme is expected to generate 75,000 direct jobs.
