Govt issues framework

The department of consumer affairs has come up with a framework for safeguarding and protecting consumer interest from fake and deceptive reviews in e-commerce, which will be applicable to every online platform that publishes consumer reviews. But initially its compliance would be voluntary. Further, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) will develop a Conformity Assessment Scheme for compliance.
