MakeMyTrip-GoIbibo and OYO

On October 19, 2022 the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has imposed monetary penalties on MakeMyTrip and GoIbibo (MMT-Go), and OYO at the rate of 5 per cent of their relevant turnovers, amounting to Rs 223 crore and Rs 169 crore, respectively. The penalties were imposed on MMT-Go for abusing its dominant position and also for having an anti-competitive arrangement with OYO vide which MMT-Go delisted the competitors of OYO from its online portals in 2018.
