National Security Risk from Chinese Telcos

On March 16, 2022 the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) ordered revocation and termination of telecommunication services provided by Chinese state-owned Pacific Networks Corp and its wholly owned subsidiary ComNet (USA) LLC. FCC termed the two companies as security risk for the US. FCC found that due to their status as Chinese state-owned entities, the two companies are vulnerable to exploitation, influence, and control by the Chinese government. It has given them 60 days to stop providing services.
