Jio held 485 patents, establishing itself as one of India\u2019s largest patent holders, particularly in 5G and sixth-generation (6G) technologies. <\/p>\n<p>Reliance Jio Infocomm, the country\u2019s top telecom operator, comprises the bulk of JPL&#8217;s operations. <\/p>\n<p>Mukesh Ambani, CMD, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), during the conglomerate\u2019s annual general meeting this year said, \u201cWe are resolutely transforming our operating model to become a deep technology (deeptech) company with advanced manufacturing capabilities. We are making every one of our businesses AI-native, positioning them for hyper-growth.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Akash Ambani, director, RIL, had termed Jio\u2019s transformation into a deeptech company as \u201cunmistakable\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have done it on a technology stack that is designed, developed, and deployed entirely in India, by Jio\u2019s own engineers,\u201d Akash had said. The telecom company has developed its own 5G technology stack, including a homegrown 5G Core, and is deploying its home connect technology nationwide. <\/p>\n<p>Reliance has a comprehensive IP governance framework to strengthen and manage its patent portfolio, ensuring alignment with the Company\u2019s strategic business objectives.<\/p>\n<p>The oil-to-telecom conglomerate spent over \u20b94,185 crore in FY25 towards research and development (R&#038;D), 14.9% higher than \u20b93,643 crore in FY24.
