American telecom gear maker Cisco has partnered with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to establish the \u201cCisco Centre of Excellence for AI, Networking, and Entrepreneurship\u201d at the Multi Skill Training Institute (MSTI) and Model Career Centre (MCC) in Kandivali (East), Mumbai, to skill and train 1 lakh students over the next three years. <\/p>\n
\u201cI am delighted to know that Cisco\u2013CII is collaborating to set up a Centre for AI & Networking at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Kaushalya Vikas Kendra in Kandivali (North Mumbai),\u201d said Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry.
\n\u201cThis state-of-the-art centre will equip students, women and youth with practical skills in AI, networking, security, and offer hands-on learning through a makerspace for industry-relevant experience,\u201d Goyal added. <\/p>\n
Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, said, \u201cMaharashtra has a vision to become a $1 trillion economy by 2028. To reach this goal, we need people with strong digital skills. I congratulate Cisco and CII on the launch of the Cisco\u2013CII Centre for AI & Networking at CII\u2019s Multi Skill Training Institute in Kandivali (East).\u201d <\/p>\n
Cisco further said it is also expanding long-term collaboration with NIIT Foundation, focused on training 2.7 million people in AI and cybersecurity across India by 2028, including 1 lakh individuals across Maharashtra.
\nIn partnership with Dr. DY Patil College of Engineering & Innovation, Cisco will establish a new Experience, Design, Go-to-Market, EDGE Center in Pune. <\/p>\n
Cisco will collaborate with the Maharashtra government to empower the state\u2019s youth with digital skills through the Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University. Through this partnership, Cisco Networking Academy\u2019s digital skills programs will be offered at more than 125 skill centres in various academic institutions across the state.<\/p>\n
Lastly, Cisco said that it will launch a startup technology accelerator in partnership with Villgro Innovation Foundation.
