Bharti Airtel\u2019s enterprise arm, Airtel Business, has partnered with precise-positioning-technology solution firm Swift Navigation to launch India\u2019s first artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)-powered cloud-based location service \u2013 Airtel-Skylark Positioning Service. <\/p>\n
Airtel Business, in a statement on Tuesday, said that the service will improve accuracy by 100x when compared to the standard Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).<\/p>\n
The companies will initially launch a 35,000 km2 network around the National Capital Region (NCR) later this year. This network will be rolled out to other parts of the country in phases very soon after. <\/p>\n
The partnership combines Sunil Mittal-led Airtel\u2019s nationwide 4G and fifth-generation (5G) network with Swift Navigation\u2019s offerings to deliver centimetre-level-accurate positioning service for mission-critical, location-based applications, such as tolling, emergency response, utilities, fleet management, autonomous vehicles and others, at scale, according to a joint statement. <\/p>\n
