{"id":924076,"date":"2025-04-21T15:39:24","date_gmt":"2025-04-21T10:09:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/telecomlive.in\/web\/?p=924076"},"modified":"2025-04-21T15:39:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-21T10:09:00","slug":"airtels-ai-solution-to-warn-against-local-international-spam-in-10-languages","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/telecomlive.in\/web\/2025\/04\/21\/airtels-ai-solution-to-warn-against-local-international-spam-in-10-languages\/","title":{"rendered":"Airtel\u2019s AI solution to warn against local, international spam in 10 languages"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bharti Airtel on Monday said its artificial intelligence (AI)-driven solution will begin notifying users about spam calls and messages from domestic and international numbers in 10 Indian languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Punjabi and Urdu. <\/p>\n<p>The feature, however, is currently only available to Airtel subscribers using an Android smartphone. <\/p>\n<p>This comes against the ongoing intensified efforts from India\u2019s telecom regulator (TRAI), Department of Telecommunications (DoT), and telcos to curb the menace of unsolicited commercial communications (UCC) originating within India, and from spoofed international numbers. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Airtel\u2019s AI-powered tool will now screen and alert customers to all spam calls and SMSes originating from international networks,\u2019 the Sunil Mittal-driven telco said. <\/p>\n<p>After Airtel intensified its efforts to combat domestic spam calls, scamsters and spammers resorted to exploiting foreign networks to funnel fraudulent calls into India. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018This alarming trend resulted in a 12% increase in overseas spam calls in the last six months. Airtel expects to nullify this growing challenge with its new feature,\u2019 the telco said. <\/p>\n<p>The solution was launched in September last year, and to date, it has flagged over 27.5 billion calls as spam to its customers. Since its launch, Airtel customers have also seen a 16% decrease in spam calls. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018We have enhanced our solutions to better serve the linguistic diversity of India.
