Fintech major Paytm said on Thursday it will partner with Perplexity to integrate the artificial intelligence (AI) startup\u2019s search features with its application.<\/p>\n
Paytm said the integration will allow its customers users to ask questions, explore topics in Indian languages and make financial decisions. The Noida-based company described the collaboration as a \u201cmajor step\u201d in integrating AI and mobile payments. The chatbot will be available as a button on the Paytm app.<\/p>\n
The launch of the collaborative consumer-facing feature comes more than a year after Paytm said it used AI automation internally, leading to a 10-15 per cent reduction in employee costs. <\/p>\n
Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma said the shift from search to AI-driven actionable insights needs local data training and the industry is moving towards that. He was speaking on X Spaces alongside Perplexity\u2019s co-founder Aravind Srinivas.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis collaboration is a step towards a future where AI enhances everyday interactions and digital experiences for all,\u201d Srinivas said. Perplexity gives answers to users\u2019 questions from real-time sources.<\/p>\n
