{"id":818043,"date":"2024-05-31T17:11:50","date_gmt":"2024-05-31T11:41:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/telecomlive.in\/web\/?p=818043"},"modified":"2024-06-01T08:25:43","modified_gmt":"2024-06-01T02:55:43","slug":"orange-finalises-merger-in-romania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/telecomlive.in\/web\/2024\/05\/31\/orange-finalises-merger-in-romania\/","title":{"rendered":"Orange finalises merger in Romania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Orange completed the merger of Orange Romania S.A (ORO) and fixed provider Orange Romania Communications S.A (OROC), a move to create a fixed-mobile convergent player and remain competitive. <\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Orange detailed that ORO will absorb OROC and the merged entity will begin as a fully converged telecoms company from tomorrow (June 1). <\/p>\n<p>Orange Group will hold 80%  of shares in the company and the voting rights, and 20% will be held by the Romanian government\u2019s Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalisation. <\/p>\n<p>ORO acquired 54% of shares in fixed provider Telekom Romania Communications in 2021 and rebranded Orange Romania Communications. <\/p>\n<p>No major changes will occur during the merger, Orange stated the tie-up will \u201cremove barriers to full operational integration\u201d, and combine customer databases and IT systems to deliver unified experiences for customers. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis merger enables Orange Romania to fully implement its strategy to deliver best-in class offers on mobile and fibre,\u201d said Orange Europe EVP and CEO, Mari-Noelle Jego-Laveissiere.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Orange completed the merger of Orange Romania S.A (ORO) and fixed provider Orange Romania Communications S.A (OROC), a move to create a fixed-mobile convergent player and remain competitive.
