VMware said its solution is playing a crucial role in enabling the telco to manage its multi-vendor environments and help improve network operations and efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDISH Wireless runs its network traffic in a multi-vendor, cloud-native environment and has launched more than 20,000 5G sites to date,\u201d said Eben Albertyn, EVP and Chief Technology Officer, Dish Wireless. \u201cVMware Telco Cloud Service Assurance provides visibility and actionable insights to help manage and operate our network effectively.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dish is running its network on Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN) gear from South Korea\u2019s Samsung and US-based Mavenir.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Vodafone and VMware, under a proof-of-concept (PoC), are applying network programmability and intelligence into the radio access network (RAN) as part of their collaboration to address network challenges caused by short-video content.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVodafone continues to collaborate with VMware, and now Broadcom, to drive greater interoperability, innovation, and improvements in the RAN with VMware RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC),\u201d said Santiago Tenorio, Vodafone\u2019s Director of Network Architecture. \u201cThe two companies have worked together on the integration of network intelligence and programmability to provide real-time control over our network APIs with the aim of improving the overall customer experience for all customers, including those wishing to consume short-form videos.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>US mobile operator Dish Wireless and Britain\u2019s Vodafone are integrating Broadcom-acquired VMware\u2019s telecom services into their respective networks.
