Reliance Jio has silently launched the \u201cJio New Year Offer 2024\u201d for prepaid customers. It makes sense because the \u201cplan\u201d isn\u2019t technically brand-new. Jio is basically taking its Rs 2,999 Happy New Year annual recharge plan from last year and giving it a shot in the arm with extended validity without changing the other parametres. The Rs 2,023 plan which was announced alongside isn\u2019t getting the same treatment though.<\/p>\n
While it may look like a simple rehash of an existing plan on paper, since buyers are getting the same benefits, now for a longer period, their daily cost comes down from Rs 8.21 per day to about Rs 7.70 per day thanks to Jio\u2019s New Year Offer 2024. The offer is already in motion at the time of writing which is to say, eligible customers can sign-up for Jio\u2019s \u201c24 Days Validity Voucher\u201d through its MyJio app.<\/p>\n
The Rs 2,999 prepaid plan from Jio comes with a validity of 365 days. The extension means customers will be able to use the plan for 389 days. The benefits, as we mentioned earlier, remain the same.
\nFor your reference, Jio\u2019s Rs 2,999 annual prepaid plan bundles unlimited 4G (2.5GB\/day highspeed data and thereafter unlimited data at 64Kbps) or 5G data (depending on whether or not you\u2019ve signed-up for Jio\u2019s true 5G test and the network is available to you).
\nJio also bundles unlimited national calls in home and roaming, 100 national SMS\/day in home and roaming and complimentary subscription to Jio Apps under the Rs 2,999 prepaid plan. On its terms and conditions page, Jio notes that the Jio New Year Offer 2024 is valid on or after December 20, 2023 but the end window isn\u2019t mentioned.
