Today, some smartwatches and newer models of smartphones are e-SIM enabled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn these times of digital-first lifestyles, where mobiles, tablets and watches are all interconnected, the e-SIM will provide seamless connectivity for you,\u201d Airtel CEO &#038; MD Gopal Vittal said in an emailed statement to the telecom operator\u2019s customers on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>ETTelecom has reviewed the email.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor instance, you will be able to go for a morning jog and not carry your phone along since the e-SIM will enable connectivity on your smartwatch while your phone sits by your bedside at home and you enjoy your run,\u201d Vittal said.<\/p>\n<p>The Airtel MD said it will also be possible for users to use multiple mobile numbers on a single e-SIM, should they choose to do so. \u201cIt is also very easy to change devices with an e-SIM.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that in instances of theft, it will be harder for criminals to get rid of the eSIM \u201csince they are unlike the traditional SIMs that could be physically removed from phones\u201d. Vittal added this will make a lost smartphone easier to track.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have tried to make the switch to an e-SIM as seamless as possible for you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Vittal, all devices that support eSIM are also compatible with Airtel eSIM.
