The announcement was made in the presence of IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Google\u2019s head of devices and services, Rick Osterloh.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an early step towards expanding our production here to meet the local demand for pixel devices. And even more importantly, it\u2019s a huge step forward in Google\u2019s commitment to Make in India,\u201d Osterloh said. He highlighted that India is a priority market for Pixel phones.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re all very proud. Google is very proud, partner of the government of India\u2019s making India initiative. We\u2019ll be sharing a lot more information in the coming months. We can\u2019t wait to bring more pixel magic to India,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Google will partner with both local and international manufacturers to produce Pixel smartphones in India. The company has not yet announced which manufacturers it will be working with, but it is likely that Google will partner with established manufacturers such as Foxconn and Dixon Technologies.<\/p>\n
