Finnish telecoms gear maker Nokia said it will roll out 5G network for Danish telecom operators, Telenor and Telia\u2019s joint network (TTN), following the availability of 3.5GHz spectrum band.<\/p>\n
Nokia is already the exclusive supplier of 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) and said it will support the modernization of the shared network, TTN, to deliver enhanced connectivity experiences.<\/p>\n
Under the deal, Nokia will supply its ReefShark System on Chip (SoC) based AirScale 5G RAN portfolio including 5G Massive MIMO antennas to enable ultra-fast, low-latency mobile broadband services for TTN\u2019s consumers and enterprise customers.<\/p>\n
The modernization deal will focus initially on Denmark\u2019s four largest cities before expanding to cover most Danish customers during 2022.<\/p>\n
TTN is Denmark’s largest mobile network with more than 4,300 sites and the network merger dates back to 2012. As of now, both Telenor and Telia own 50% of the network.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith our nationwide network rollout, Danes will experience higher speeds and better coverage in both urban and peri-urban areas. Specifically, the 5G upgrades will mean twice the speeds in densely populated areas and significant improvements across the country,\u201d added Lars Thomsen, CEO of Telenor Denmark.<\/p>\n
