Finnish telecoms gear maker Nokia Thursday said it will deploy its Gigabit Passive Optical Networking (GPON) solution for Nepal\u2019s CG NET as part of an extensive Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) rollout across the Kathmandu valley.<\/p>\n
The networking solution will allow CG NET to scale its network in line with the growing demand for a high-speed broadband network due to the increased consumption of video, OTT content, and online education.<\/p>\n
Further, CG NET will be able to leverage Nokia\u2019s solution for offering fast broadband speed and competitive service offering for IPTV, gaming, remote work, and remote education.<\/p>\n
In addition, it will allow for efficient future upgrades to next-generation technologies and Software-Defined Access networks, leveraging the same access platform.<\/p>\n
The project also includes Nokia consumer fiber modems.<\/p>\n
