Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. has announced a nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive for its more than 650,000 associates, their families and support teams in India.<\/p>\n
For the worst-hit communities, the IT services company will continue delivery of life-saving supplies\u2014including 1000 oxygen beds, ventilators, and covid vaccinations, using its $8.5 million covid relief fund. The efforts are a part of Operation C3, Cognizant\u2019s Covid-19 response program to combat the pandemic.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are committed to deploying all the resources available to us to help India overcome this humanitarian crisis. Our first priority is to protect our associates, their dependents, and support teams during these challenging times,\u201d said Rajesh Nambiar, executive vice president and chairman, Cognizant India. \u201cWe have partnered with top-tier healthcare providers and hospitals with pan India presence to help ensure access to critical health services and vaccinations. Through our emergency funding to our foundation and UNICEF, we have mobilised life-saving care for vulnerable and differently abled communities, including vaccinations.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cognizant\u2019s Covid-19 vaccination drive for associates and their families\u2014launched in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Gurugram\u2014has been expanded to 100 vaccination centres across 40 cities. The innoculations will take place at Cognizant\u2019s own facilities and through a network of hospitals managed by healthcare providers, including Apollo, Columbia ASIA, Fortis and Manipal.<\/p>\n
Cognizant will cover the costs of vaccines, enable time-off and vaccine reimbursements.<\/p>\n
Cognizant India Foundation has also collaborated with NGOs and health authorities to mobilize delivery of 1000 oxygenated covid care beds for free community, pediatric ICU units, over 7 lakh personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline workers, and special vaccination camps for people with disabilities and their caregivers.<\/p>\n
Over 8,000 people have so far received vaccinations in these camps in the ongoing drive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
