Further, Telxius recently added Dunant to its transatlantic portfolio, along with Marea.<\/p>\n<p>Directly connecting Ashburn, Richmond, and Virginia Beach in the US to Paris, Madrid, and Dario (Bilbao) in Europe, these two systems provide access to dense data center areas and key connectivity hubs.<\/p>\n<p>Telxius said it will be using Ciena\u2019s GeoMesh Extreme submarine networking solution, which includes Ciena\u2019s 6500 Reconfigurable Line System integrated C&#038;L-band for scalable terrestrial backhaul, and WaveLogic 5 Extreme coherent optics, among others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur scalable, flexible managed spectrum solution, powered by Ciena\u2019s Spectrum Sharing network infrastructure, means that we are able to meet the diverse needs of our global customers,\u201d said Carlos Dasi, CTO of Telxius Cable.<\/p>\n<p>Ciena\u2019s GeoMesh Extreme solution will enable Telxius to connect the US and Europe efficiently, by reducing latency and go-to-market time so that Telxius can support the delivery of broadband intensive services and applications, said Rodolfo Vigliano, Senior Managing Director of Sales at Ciena.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCiena also supports the backhauls between Telxius\u2019 Derio Communications Hub and the landing station of Marea in Sopelana and the POPs in Paris and Madrid, substantially increasing transatlantic connectivity,\u201d Rodolfo added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Neutral telecom infrastructure operator Telxius on Wednesday partnered with networking systems and service company Ciena to power two transatlantic submarine cables, Marea and Dunant, and to provide managed spectrum service with Ciena\u2019s Spectrum Sharing submarine network infrastructure.
