This initiative aims to complement its fiber footprint in metropolitan areas and free up midband capacity for mobile services, according to a Light Reading report. <\/p>\n<p>The carrier plans to increase premises capable of 1-Gig speed broadband by an incremental 10 to 15 million using FWA in the medium term, according to CEO Dan Schulman. This is in addition to Verizon&#8217;s existing target of reaching 40 to 50 million premises passed within the same timeframe.
