\u201cHigh Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and growing LPDDR5 content in AI data center infrastructure also played key roles in driving this growth,\u201d the research firm said. <\/p>\n
Samsung captured a 38% market share during the quarter, widening its lead over its domestic rival, SK Hynix. The two players were in a close contest last year for leadership in DRAM revenue before Samsung reclaimed the top spot in Q4 2025, said Counterpoint. <\/p>\n
Micron maintained its share steady in Q1 2026. The company has been aggressively ramping up its capacity to capture additional demand and share in the market. <\/p>\n
SK Hynix on Wednesday crossed the $1 trillion market value milestone, while Samsung surpassed $1 trillion in market value for the first time on May 6, and the US-listed Micron did so on Tuesday, riding on the AI chip boom. <\/p>\n
Counterpoint, though, said that AI growth is also helping Chinese CXMT to capture the growing domestic DRAM demand. <\/p>\n
CXMT is also receiving a top-line boost from rising DRAM chip prices, which was the most notable development in the January-March quarter (Q1) of 2026. CXMT’s DRAM revenue surged more than 700% year-on-year, cementing its position as a fourth-ranked supplier, with its market share more than doubling to 8%. <\/p>\n
The research firm expects prices to rise further in the April-June 2026 quarter by 50% sequentially, across both HBM and commodity DRAM, signaling another \u201cblockbuster quarter\u201d. <\/p>\n
