Samsung Electronics plans over $73 bln investment in 2026 to lead in AI chip sector

SEOUL: Samsung Electronics said on Thursday that it plans to invest more than 110 trillion won ($73.24 billion) this year ‌in research ⁠and development ⁠and facilitiesin a bid to lead the semiconductor industry in artificial intelligence.

The South Korean company also said in a corporate filing that it ⁠was pursuing ‌meaningful mergers and acquisitions in areas including ⁠robots, medical technology, auto electronics and air-conditioning solutions.
