Michael Burry claims Nvidia used ‘mafia-like’ tactics to block AMD in Oracle data center deal, calls for antitrust probe

Investor Michael Burry, in a post on X on Tuesday, claimed that OpenAI backed out of a major data centre arrangement with Oracle because it preferred a different generation of chips from Nvidia.

According to Burry, best known for predicting the housing crash chronicled in Michael Lewis’ The Big Short, the disagreement centred on whether the facility would be built around Nvidia’s Rubin architecture or its Blackwell platform, which required different types of data centre infrastructure.
