Centre approves ₹2,432 crore to implement Amended BharatNet programme in Andhra Pradesh

NEW DELHI: The Centre has approved ₹2,432 crore as financial assistance for the implementation of the Amended BharatNet Programme in Andhra Pradesh, which will entail the roll-out of high-speed internet via optical fiber network (OFC) and upgradation to ring topology in gram panchayats.

The project will be implemented through a newly created Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), Andhra Pradesh BharatNet Infrastructure Limited (APBIL), the Ministry of Communications said in an official statement on Monday.
