ChatGPT-maker OpenAI is reportedly offering $15,000 and support resources to staff affected by US immigration authorities. According to a Business Insider report, the initiative aims to help OpenAI employees who are directly affected by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention or prolonged secondary inspection by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Stating that “part of loving the country is the American duty to push back against overreach,” he said then that “What’s happening with ICE is going too far”.
