India AI Impact Summit 2026: Micron to commence production at Gujarat facility by Feb-end, says S Krishnan

NEW DELHI: The US-based Micron Technology Inc would commence production at its assembly, test, marking and packaging (ATMP) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, by the end of February, said a top official of the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) on Monday.

“…by the end of this month, we should see the inauguration of the first of the 10 approved projects. Micron would start production at its facility in India, and that would be the first commercial-scale production of semiconductors in the country,” said S Krishnan, secretary, MeitY, at the ongoing India AI Impact Summit 2026.
