Alert Navi Mumbai couple averts cyber fraud, reports to cops
Navi Mumbai: The alertness of a Vashi couple helped them avert a cyber fraud by immediately contacting the police after being sent a malicious ‘apk link’ asking to open the link by claiming that Rs 15 lakh has been debited to their bank account due to purchase on Amazon delivery app.
Shashikant Chandekar, SI of Vashi said the panicked husband-wife duo Nisha Suvarna and Ravi Suvarna came to police station and reported they had received a message on their mobile that Rs 15 lakh had been debited to their bank account for purchase on Amazon, when they had not made any purchase.
