New Aadhaar app launched: How to keep your Aadhaar number, biometrics and other details safe from scams

The UIDAI has replaced the ageing mAadhaar app with a brand new app, simply called ‘Aadhaar’. With rising cases of Aadhaar-related fraud and phishing scams across India, this completely revamped Aadhaar mobile app includes powerful new tools that are meant to help users keep their personal details safe.

The highly anticipated app, which was launched in early 2026, introduces several built-in safeguards that make it significantly harder for scammers to misuse Aadhaar numbers, biometric data, or linked services.
