Amid the glut of AI tools in existence today, Clawdbot has gone viral of late. It all started when the bot’s GitHub repository exploded with thousands of stars (of appreciation) in a single day this month.
But what are its promises and pitfalls?
What is Clawdbot?
It’s an open-source agentic AI assistant that runs locally on users’ computers. Created by PSPDFKit founder Peter Steinberger, this does not merely work as a chatbot, but also takes actions on a user’s behalf such as monitoring emails and calendars, managing files, etc.
