India’s leading AI push: Ashwini Vaishnaw trashes IMF chief’s ‘second tier’ tag

Electronics and information technology minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday countered International Monetary Fund (IMF) managing director Kristalina Georgieva’s assertion that India is a second-tier artificial intelligence (AI) player, saying that the country is among the leading nations ushering in AI technology globally. India is working across all five layers of AI architecture—application, model, chip, infrastructure and energy—and nations with large AI models do not have a leverage over it, he said.
