Google AI CEO Demis Hassabis feels maybe Sam Altman has realised what everyone’s big worry about OpenAI is
Google AI CEO Demis Hassabis has said that the company does not have “any plans” to bring ads in Gemini app. Speaking during an interview in Davos, Hassabis also called rival OpenAI’s recent ChatGPT ad test a premature revenue push. Last week, OpenAI announced that it will begin testing ads in ChatGPT in the coming weeks. Commenting on the announcement, Hassabis said “It’s interesting they’ve gone for that so early,” adding “Maybe they feel they need to make more revenue.”Investors have recently warned of a potential financial risk at OpenAI. In November last year, tech analyst and professor Scott Galloway issued a warning against possible financial implosion at OpenAI which he then described as a “trainwreck from a financial management perspective.” He then explained that OpenAI is currently generating an estimated $13 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR), yet it is spending more than double that amount.
