Quick commerce riders unaware that 10-minute delivery claim has been removed
A day after quick commerce companies revamped their apps to remove the 10-minute delivery claim, the gig workers at the centre of this issue remain unaware of the developments.
Earlier this week, labour and employment minister Mansukh Mandaviya told the companies to drop this claim from their branding and advertising due to pressure on delivery workers, which compromises their safety.
This was a result of nationwide strikes by gig worker unions on December 25 and 31— among the busiest days for quick-commerce platforms — demanding that 10-minute deliveries be done away with, and the earlier payout structures restored.
