    Costlier memory chips may trigger price shock: Smartphone, TV and laptop prices could rise by 4–8%

    Prices of smartphones, televisions, and laptops are expected to rise by as much as 4-8% over the next two months, adding to a sharp increase of up to 21% in November-December, according to industry executives and market experts.

    Smartphone makers are facing the impact of rising demand for memory chips amid accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, driving prices higher.
