ECI deploys AI to detect duplicate voters across 12 states in ongoing roll revision
The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to use AI-based software to find duplicate voters across 12 states where the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is underway.
West Bengal Chief Electoral officer (CEO) Manoj Agarwal said that the software will do face recognition and will help identify the voters with duplicate photographs. “The AI-based software, through the face recognition feature, will identify the voters which are duplicate,” the CEO said.
Agarwal expressed hope that the entire work of SIR in Bengal, before publishing the draft roll, which includes enumeration form (EF) distribution, collection and digitisation process, will be completed by November 25-26.
