Within hours of OpenAI announcing GPT 5.1 for the masses, rival AI firm Perplexity jumped on the hype train in extending the benefits of the newest GPT model to its paid subscribers. Perplexity’s CEO, Aravind Srinivas, took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the arrival of the latest GPT model on its AI search engine. Perplexity AI has integrated OpenAI’s newly launched GPT-5.1 models, making them available exclusively to its Pro and Max subscribers.
