Ericsson to set-up RAN software R&D unit in Bengaluru for innovations in 5G, 5G Advanced
NEW DELHI: Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson on Thursday said it is establishing a new Radio Access Network (RAN) software research and development (R&D) unit in Bengaluru, India, to drive innovations in fifth-generation (5G) technology and 5G Advanced.
This announcement follows Ericsson’s recent investments in R&D in India, including the commencement of application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) development, as the maker of 5G wireless equipment seeks to position the country as an important technology hub for both local and global customers.
