Sam Altman wants OpenAI to compete with Google, Amazon and Microsoft in another service: We are looking at ways to sell…
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has suggested that the company is planning another major new business venture. This would put the ChatGPT maker in direct competition with cloud technology giants, including Google, Amazon and Microsoft. In a recent post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Altman wrote: “We are also looking at ways to more directly sell compute capacity to other companies (and people); we are pretty sure the world is going to need a lot of ‘AI cloud’, and we are excited to offer this.”
This means OpenAI could soon start selling cloud services, putting it in competition with established providers such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud.
