TEC, IIT Bombay form partnership for 6G, standards development

NEW DELHI: The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), the technical arm of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), and the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advanced telecom technologies and standardisation activities, according to a media statement on Friday.

The partnership creates a formal framework for joint studies, research, and technical contributions, aiming to increase India’s participation and influence in bodies like the International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) and the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).
