“We Got Hacked”: Penn community shaken after fraudulent emails circulate from school accounts

Students, alumni, and faculty members at the University of Pennsylvania were shocked this week after receiving alarming emails that started with the subject line, “We got hacked.” The texts seemed to originate from addresses linked with Penn’s Graduate School of Education (GSE), and as per the reports, were sent by individuals claiming responsibility for infiltrating the university’s systems.
