Nokia looks to amp up 5G gear deployment in 2026

New Delhi: Finnish telecom equipment vendor Nokia expects to deploy more 5G gear in India in 2026 compared to the current year with telecom operators moving to expand their networks and fill coverage gaps amid rising data consumption.

Speaking to ET, Tarun Chhabra, senior vice president and country head at Nokia India said there is still only around 60% deployment including coverage and capacity in terms of the base layer for 4G and 5G, leaving potential for the remaining 40% deployments.
