Truecaller does not make users’ contact list public, says CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala

Sweden’s Truecaller, a popular app offering caller ID services, keeps all user contact lists private and restricts their access publicly, said CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala. Speaking to Kiran Rathee, Jhunjhunwala said regulatory pressures in India to curb the menace of spam messages are a positive step towards recognising the scale of the issue. Edited excerpts:
