5G to be innovation multiplier in India: DoT’s Deb Kumar Chakrabarti

NEW DELHI: The fifth-generation (5G) technology would be an innovation multiplier and open up new applications in sectors, including healthcare, said a senior official from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

“5G is an innovation multiplier. It is the most perfect technology, as 4G had limitations…5G is quite fast enough to make an operation far away from the city,” Deb Kumar Chakrabarti, member (services), DoT, said at the second-edition of the recently concluded ETTelecom 5G Innovation Summit 2025.
