As announced by the company in a blog post, the AI tool delivered a gold-medal level performance at the world’s most prestigious computer programming competition – the 2025 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals. The breakthrough was celebrated by Google CEO Sundar Pichai who shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating “Incredible milestone: an advanced version of Gemini 2.5 Deep Think achieved gold-medal performance at the ICPC World Finals, a top global programming competition, solving an impressive 10/12 problems.”
