Congress leaders face FIR for sharing deepfake video of PM Modi’s late mother
FIR filed against INC leaders for sharing AI AI-generated video on social media, which defames PM Modi and his late mother, Heeraben Modi. The video was posted on INC Bihar X account on 10th September. Legal action for violating ethical norms and laws of dignity.
Legal action and complaint details
Complaint filed by Sanket Gupta, Convenor of BJP Delhi Election Cell. FIR cites multiple sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 including 18(2), 336(3), 336(4), 340(2), 352, 356(2) and 61(2). Action taken after the video was shared on social media which shows PM Modi dreaming about his mother who is shown criticising his political decisions.
